COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Pass-the-Hat is a Whatcom County organization helping people who have had an unfortunate turn of events in their life. Northside Dental Care and Dr. Eric McRory support this organization. For only $2 per month you can join us in helping provide local families with financial relief from tragic events. By spreading the word, small donations add up to make a big difference in our community.

Dr. Eric McRory, and his team at Northside Dental Care have been supporters of the Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association (NSEA) for many years. Dr. Mike McRory (Dr. Eric McRory’s father) founded the organization in 1990 where it started as “a coalition of community members and partners who work together for restoration of wild salmon runs in Whatcom County, from the Canadian border to the Skagit Watershed.”

Dr. McRory is a volunteer dentist for Unity Care NW, a local nonprofit health center providing affordable health care for children and adults in Whatcom County.

For many years, Interfaith’s dental care was only available to children. Struggling adults in need of dental care were only able to go to the Emergency Room for treatment. This issue resulted in a lack of ongoing preventive care for the patient, as well as higher costs for the community.

The lack of dental care for financially struggling adults changed in 2006, when Dr. Eric McRory and a group of other volunteer Bellingham dentists stepped in to utilize Interfaith’s facilities to provide care for adults as well as children. Dr. Eric McRory is honored to be a part of this vital effort to provide dental care for those in need.

Dr. McRory is also a member of the Sunrise Rotary Club of Bellingham.
