ORAL CANCER SCREENING
A holistic approach to dental care
We include oral cancer screenings at all our routine exams.
If diagnosed early enough, oral cancer has a high potential for treatment and cure. And yet oral cancer claims one person’s life in the United States every day. That’s because most people aren’t getting oral cancer screenings when they visit their dentists.
Oral cancer can be deadly if not detected and treated early.
If you’ve never had an oral cancer screening, we recommend getting an exam as soon as possible.
We have the equipment to detect the earliest signs and symptoms of pre-cancerous conditions. And, while certain dental symptoms can be caused by other, less serious problems, it’s always important to rule out the possibility of cancer.
Identifying symptoms of oral cancer can include:
- Red or white bumps or sores anywhere in the oral cavity
- Persistent mouth sores or ulcers
- Unremitting sore throat or hoarseness
- Thick or rough patches
- Hard lumps
- Halitosis
- Changes in the position of your teeth
- General pain, swelling, numbness or tenderness
- Dysphagia or difficulty chewing or swallowing
- Trouble with speaking or moving parts of the mouth
